California artist Joe Von Arx is greatly inspired by Islamic architecture, and this mosaic mirror draws its inspiration directly from the bold design of the Great Mosque of Cordoba. The unique combination of artistry and design, also includes a combination of upcycled materials. Joe has a true passion for historic architecture and a dedication for reusing fine materials.


  • Materials: 5/16" irridized glass mosaic tiles from recycled glass
  • The molding holding the tiles is maple from a bowling alley lane
  • The broken glass filling in the spaces is from a broken shower door of tempered glass, attached with transparent glue over metallic paints
  • The dark blue solid pockets are tinted epoxy.
  • Mounted on panels recycled from kitchen cabinetry.
