This original mosaic artwork is an interpretation of a 10-point star, inspired by the Persian architecture from the 17th Century Shah Mosque in Isfahan. It is a unique combination of artistry, design, and upcycled materials from a variety of sources, mostly construction sites. Follow the complicated path of the inlay around the mirror and you will find it ends where it begins.
California artist Joe Von Arx created this mirror out of a passion for historic architecture and a dedication for reusing fine materials.

Upcycled Materials:
- 5/16" irridized glass mosaic tiles from recycled glass
- The molding holding the tiles is maple from a bowling alley lane
- The broken glass filling in the spaces is from a broken shower door of tempered glass, attached with transparent glue over metallic paints
- The faceted wood pieces are maple burl.
- Padauk trim
- Mounted on panels recycled from kitchen cabinetry.
