Seahorses are named for their horselike appearance, with bent necks, long snouted heads and a distinctive trunk and tail. They swim upright, propelling themselves using the dorsal fin. The pectoral fins, located on either side of the head behind their eyes, are used for steering.
Seahorses swim very poorly, rapidly fluttering a dorsal fin and using pectoral fins to steer. Because of this, they are most likely to be found resting with their tail wound around a stationary object, and staring at their iPads. (joke). They have long snouts, which they use to suck up food, and their eyes can move independently of each other.
This sassy ceramic seahorse is individually created and fired.
Approx. Dimensions: 9.25"h x 4"w x 2.25" from wall
