Since the moment this desk arrived in the physical gallery, it has caused almost everybody to stop, stare and exclaim "wow"! It is a beautiful, functional, and powerful piece of art. This desk features absolutely stunning Claro Walnut, framed in warm, figured Cherry. The Walnut used for this desk came from a special tree in Mendocino County, California, which the artist, Tom McFadden, observed for years, waiting for the day the wood would become available. It was clearly worth the wait! The rarity of the grain alone makes this desk a one-of-a-kind piece.
Nuanced design details are influenced by the Art Deco era, including the thoughtfully curved corners and elegant, shapely legs. The stepped handles are cut from stainless steel and polished to create a classic Deco shine. As functional as it is beautiful, this desk features 2 utility drawers on the left and a file drawer (for letter or legal) on the right. The drawers extend the length of the desk from front to back.
