Motawi Tileworks
Motawi Tileworks was founded in 1992 by Nawal Motawi. After graduating from U. of Michigan's Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design, and some time making tiles at renowned Pewabic Pottery, she returned to Ann Arbor and started making her own historically-inspired tiles. The studio has grown to a passionate staff of 30+ where quality and whimsy flourish. Motawi Tileworks specializes in Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts and Midcentury Modern aesthetics and is licensed to produce art tile based on the work of Frank Lloyd Wright and Charley Harper. Nawal's motto: It's fun to be good! (at what you do).
All tiles are notched in the back so can be hung on the wall. Classic quartersawn oak framing options are also available. |
